Once my back was strong enough and the green light was given by my coach, I started doing regular sessions of Yamuna Body Rolling. It’s like a deep tissue massage except that you are the one giving yourself a massage and not someone else. I remembered when I first started out, it was painful because some of the muscles haven’t been pushed or prodded in a long long time! But after a few times, the muscles become more relax and less tense.
It’s a great technique to learn because it allows you to give yourself a message whenever and wherever you want. The body rolling techniques can be done on the floor, standing up or in a chair.
If you’re having back problems from an injury, I highly recommend that you first seek help from a medical professional before starting this. Even for me, I had to do a fair amount of corrective exercises and developed enough strength in my back muscles before starting this.
For more information, you can check out Yamuna’s YouTube channel or get hold of her products either through her website or Amazon.com. I bought her book in Singapore from Kinokuniya Bookstore but sorry guys, that was the last one on the shelf. To buy the ball, you can contact my coach at http://www.fit4life.com.my – she just got some new stock in recently.
That’s for today! Next up, stuff that I bring when I travel around, including a Yamuna Body Rolling Ball.
Cheerio!
p.s. A tip about Yamuna Body Rolling : It really does help with not only easing backpain but you actually do look slimmer and trimmer. The muscles actually do lengthen out more and trust me, you’ll look fit, slim and trim!
p.p.s There is a weekly body rolling class at the gym I go to (http://www.fit4life.com.my). If you’re keen, it’s every Tuesday 6.40 – 7.30 pm and you do not need to own a ball. There’s more than enough to go around. Tatiana (my coach) always lead this class so you’ll enjoy it.
