Focus on the Impossible to Win!

It’s in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped. – Anthony Robbins

Did you get a zing up your back reading that? I did. In 2009 after my second disc herniation, I made a monumentous decision to fix my back, no matter how long it took and no matter what I had to sacrifice, I was going to walk straight, have my movement back and not be immobilized for the rest of my life.

Enough was enough and it was time to get cracking. And truly, that impossible belief that I could fix my back pain and that I can find a way to get it fix. I knew people who got over their back pain and were healed.

I wanted that. I wanted to be that person. I wanted to be the one that achieve the impossible. I wanted to be the one for me to be strong for myself. That the final frontier was my mind against my reluctance to work hard, put in effort to be the person I was meant to be.

How a Towel Helped me with Back Pain to attend a 3-day Seminar

Any man who can hitch the length and breadth of the galaxy, rough it, slum it, struggle against terrible odds, win through, and still know where his towel is, is clearly a man to be reckoned with. - “The Hitchiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” by Douglas Adams

This post is in honour of Douglas Adam’s who wrote “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.” Today is Towel Day, an annual celebration to Douglas Adam and this is my contribution to that day.

Have towel, will travel. That’s what happened to me in 2009 when I went to attend a Millionaire Mind Intensive Seminar at the Singapore Expo. Initially, I thought my coach was mad when she suggested that I just bring a towel and lie on the floor with my back pain. Why? Because 3 months earlier, I could barely walk from a reinjury of an L5/S1 disc herniation and I was scared that I was going to hurt myself. Plus, a towel to lie on the floor?  Will I survive 3 long days of intensive training? What I didn’t know was that the towel turned out to be more comforting than expected.

I flew to Singapore. I went to the seminar. I survived all 3 days. All with the aid of my towel. :) Here’s a video of how to use a towel to helped you get through a 3-day seminar.
